Ra Body (Ankh Body Inc.) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), SBC 2003, c. 63, as a condition of operating as a private-sector organization in British Columbia, Canada.

By using Ra Body’s services — including our website at rabody.ca, our studio at 1340 Granville Street, Vancouver, BC, and our booking platform (Mariana Tek) — you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are

Ra Body is a trade name of Ankh Body Inc., a corporation registered in British Columbia, Canada. Our studio is located at 1340 Granville Street, Vancouver, BC V6Z 1M7. For all privacy matters, you may contact us at hello@rabody.ca.

2. Information We Collect

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us, as well as information generated through your use of our services. This may include:

Contact & Account Information

  • Full name, email address, phone number, and mailing address when you create a Mariana Tek account, register for classes, or sign up for our newsletter.

  • Emergency contact name and phone number provided at intake.

Health & Fitness Information

  • Health history, injury disclosures, and medical condition information provided through your intake form, waiver, or direct communications with instructors.

  • This information is considered sensitive personal information and is used solely to ensure safe class participation. It is never sold or shared with third parties without your consent.

Payment Information

  • Credit card or payment details when you purchase a membership, class package, or session. Payment processing is handled securely by Mariana Tek. Ra Body does not store raw payment card data on its own systems.

Booking & Service Usage

  • Records of your class attendance, booking history, membership status, cancellations, and any feedback or communications you provide.

Technical Data

  • IP address, browser type, operating system, and usage data collected through cookies and similar technologies when you use rabody.ca.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • Provide, manage, and improve our studio services, including class booking, membership management, and instructor coordination.

  • Process payments and manage your account through Mariana Tek.

  • Communicate with you about your account, class bookings, schedule changes, promotions, and studio updates.

  • Ensure the health and safety of all participants by reviewing intake and health information.

  • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.

  • Comply with applicable legal obligations under BC and Canadian law.

  • Analyze usage trends to improve the website and our services.

  • We share information with trusted third-party vendors who assist us in operating our services, including Mariana Tek (booking and membership platform), payment processors, and email marketing services. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.

Independent Contractors & Instructors

  • Instructors and practitioners delivering services at Ra Body may have access to your name, booking details, and relevant health information for the purpose of delivering safe and appropriate instruction.

Legal Requirements

  • We may disclose your information if required to do so by applicable law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Ra Body, our members, or others.

Business Transfers

  • In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of Ankh Body Inc.’s assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

6. SMS/Text Messaging Communications

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

7. Mariana Tek & Third-Party Platforms

Ra Body uses Mariana Tek as its official booking and membership management platform. When you create a Mariana Tek account to book with Ra Body, Mariana Tek collects and processes your information pursuant to their own Privacy Policy, available at marianatek.com. Ra Body encourages you to review Mariana Tek’s privacy practices. Ra Body is not responsible for Mariana Tek’s data practices.

8. Data Security

Ra Body takes reasonable technical, administrative, and physical measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, or loss. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use strong passwords and protect your account credentials.

9. Your Rights Under PIPA (BC)

As a resident of British Columbia, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

  • Right of Access: You may request access to the personal information Ra Body holds about you.

  • Right of Correction: You may request that Ra Body correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal information about you.

  • Right to Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw your consent to our use of your personal information at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. Note that withdrawing consent may affect your ability to participate in Ra Body services.

  • Right to Complain: If you believe Ra Body has not handled your personal information in compliance with PIPA, you may contact the Office of the Information & Privacy Commissioner for BC at oipc.bc.ca.

10. Retention of Personal Information

Ra Body retains personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law. Health and intake information is retained for a minimum of 7 years following your last participation in Ra Body services, in accordance with BC limitation period requirements.

11. Children’s Privacy

Ra Body’s services are primarily intended for individuals 19 years of age and older. Participants between 16 and 18 years of age require written parental or guardian consent prior to participation. Ra Body does not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 16 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at hello@rabody.ca and we will promptly delete it.

12. Marketing Communications

With your consent, Ra Body may send you promotional emails, newsletters, or updates about Ra Body services and events. You may withdraw your consent and unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting hello@rabody.ca. Withdrawal of marketing consent does not affect our ability to send you transactional communications related to your account or bookings.

13. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites not operated by Ra Body. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Ra Body may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Any material changes will be communicated to members by email to the address on file. The updated policy will be posted on rabody.ca with a revised effective date. Continued use of Ra Body services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
